[mslee's thoughts] Inspiring Generation - New Characters, New Villains in Shin Jung Tae's Life

Some died but new faces are introduced both as new mentors and villains to make life difficult for Shin Jung Tae.

Finding out the death of Poong Cha was both hard for Shin Jung Tae and Bong Sik. The  moment of truth was heartbreaking and the cries of misery was chilling. The scenes of Bong Sik and Jung Tae were both executed amazingly which gave the saddest feelings to the viewers.

Mo Il Hwa is a mentor that will take place Poong Cha in Jung Tae's life. His skills as a great fighter will surely enhanced Jung Tae's knowledge about fighting. He needs all the tricks to defend his life from all kinds of threats around him.

Do Ggoo on the other hand will stay one of the villains and his acceptance as the new Il Gook Hwae vowing to be a true follower to Gaya will be Jung Tae's  continuing thorn in the future. He knew about Chung Ah and it will be his ace against Jung Tae. His ambition is always a priority and no one can stop him.

The interesting part of the recent episodes was Gaya learning the truth about the deaths of her parents and believing Shin Young Chool had nothing to do with them. When she asked, he denied her the answers she wants but in the end she promised to avenged them including this ahjussi. Somehow, somethings has been cleared and I think there is a chance for her and Jung Tae.

Seol Doo Sung will be Jung Tae's new source of strength. He is the remaining one that blocks Il Gook Hwae of controlling one of Shanghai's place and Bansamtong which he built together with Young Chool as a refugee place for Joseon's [Koreans] who found all kinds of difficulty in life.

The realization that Young Chool is considered a hero in that place is still not registering so well in Jung Tae's stubborn mind. People in that place respect and love his father but because he showed differently, finds himself alone and being cursed by people, including the new acquaintance pick pocket So So.

Wang Baek San is the right hand/bodyguard of Seol Doo Sung and his knowledge about fighting is also exceptional.

The new character I was waiting for is Jung Jae Hwa. He was an ambitious Korean in Shanghai running the Shanghai Club that was once operated by Young Chool and source of funds for the Joseon wanderers. His cunning attitude is clashing with Seol Doo Sung and even though he can be replaced which is Doo Sung's agenda, he will not easily give up the position. He immediately nade it clear to Jung Tae that his presence is not needed and that he will only suffer but the funny twist is that Ok Ryeon was there and found out about Jung Tae. Then there is the ahjumma , a dine in owner who happens to be Jung Jae Hwa's weakness. I am looking forward if Jung Jae Hwa will treat Jung Tae differently and start making friends with him or continue to be one of the villains.

Inspiring generation

Gaya's entrance to Shanghai was very bold, declaring her presence to Chinese people. She was fearless and went alone to meet the party led by Wang Baek San.

The scene that I have been waiting for is the face off of Gaya and Jung Tae in Club Shanghai. Clearly, her eyes were devoid of hatred and what lies there were vulnerability of seeing him but in a controlled way.

The story is really pacing very well and the plot is deepening. Both Ok Ryeon and Gaya on the same place as Jung Tae is.

Will Il Gook Hwae conquered what they came for or will Seol Doo Sung and his group be able to resist.

Waiting for this week's episodes.
