[mslee's thoughts] Big Man Episode 2 - Kim Ji Hyuk Suspicious Of Being A Chaebol's Son

Episode 2 started off with Kim Ji Hyuk waking up. So Mi Ra almost pulled off the breathing mask on his face but woke up in time to live. While reporters are outside waiting for an exclusive interview because the family registry has been leaked. Kang Sung Wook already forged the family registry making it appear that Kim Ji Hyuk is a part of the family and the son that has been separated long ago.

At first, Kim Ji Hyuk was too stunned to question his lineage, the sudden appearance of a father claiming him as his son. Although confused, he let himself be acknowledged publicly. But at the back of his mind are nagging thoughts why they only look for him now. It is really unbelievable and surprising for someone like him. They gave him a place to live, a car to use and So Mi Ra acted as his personal assistant. She was a bit guilty of her previous actions, knowing that this man is a fake. Kang Dong Suk is still lying unconsciously at the hospital awaiting surgery. 

While in the apartment of Ji Hyuk, he went outside the terrace and appreciate the moment. He was drinking and a bit tipsy and almost feel off the terrace. So Mi Ra was just about thinking of pushing him, maybe, because she remembered what Choi Yoon Jung [ the chairman's wife] said regarding her son's immediate transplant which concerns Ji Hyuk. But again, she was startled when he almost fell and grabbed him to help him find his balance.

Ji Huk went home and gladly embraced his mother, [Song Ok Sook] who runs a restaurant. He told her about finding his family. They celebrate in the restaurant together with the regular customers, drinks on the house. So Mi Ra appeared and drank with them. She also sang to the audience's request. Ji Hyuk accompanied her home.

While all this is happening in Ji Hyuk's life the chairman, Kang Sung Woo is planning on sending K=Ji Hyuk to the Philippines. His secretary, Do Sang Ho suggested it, insinuating that Ji Hyuk could have an accident in a foreign country to eliminate him.

Meanwhile, Kang Dong Suk is getting better so they transferred him via a helicopter to have an operation. Until this moment Ji Hyuk has no idea who and where is the other son of the family. He met \Jin Ah when he went to the house to meet his supposed mother. Jin Ah could not believe he is her other brother. Although the family is showering Ji Hyuk with money and material things, he doesn't really want to be an opportunist. But because So Mi Ra knew about him, she told him to buy, eat and do anything he wants. 

He visited the orphanage where he grew up and gave gifts to the children The nun who took care of him was so happy for him. But the twist of the story is that the letter the nun kept for Ji Hyuk. That day she decided to give it to him and when he read it, he was suspicious of the chairman's motive of claiming him as the son. The letter was written by his birth mother telling him he was being abandoned and that he has no father. He kept the letter and barged on the house where Ji Ah met him. He went to Yoon Jung's room, looked at her things and finally at her journal. He compared the handwriting and it was clearly different.

Someone is definitely lying to him. He grabbed Jin Ah and  both looked at the mirror, asking her if she thinks they are siblings. Jin Ah answered no. He thought so, too.

All the time, So Mi Ra was anxious of what would Ji Hyuk do. She called Sang Ho and told him. He was at the office of the chairman. He waited for Ji Hyuk to arrive. He had already alerted his people to be on standby. Ji Hyuk confronted him but he remained tight lip. Ji Hyuk realized that something is fishy. He punched Sang Ho and threatened him but he only told Ji Hyuk where the chairman is. Ji Hyuk left.

Sang Ho commanded someone through the telephone. So Mi Ra heard him order Ji Hyuk be eliminated. So Mi Ra ran after Ji Hyuk and ride the car with him. On started their way to where the chairman is. An event was being held. On the highway, a car chased them. Planning an accident. But Ji Hyuk successfully evaded, to Sang Ho's annoyance and anger.

While the chairman is speaking in front of investors and company employees, Ji Hyuk went straight towards him on the stage and asked him if he is his son? Sung Wook suddenly announced that Ji Hyuk is the new face of the company. The president.

The story is basically fast but there are a few things that are a bit too fast for me. Well maybe because this is K-drama. Anyway, Kim Ji Hyuk is suspicious but the ending of the episode does not really answered his question. Would he accept the position given to him without clarifying the real reason of claiming him as a son?

Next week's preview shows Ji Hyuk working in the company as the President, I wonder what will happen and will revenge immediately takes place.

For a woman in love with Dong Suk, Mi Ra is showing weakness towards Ji Hyuk. Then there is Ji Ah who has interest in Ji Hyuk she calls trash. I think love triangle will be a messy one for these people.
