[mslee's thoughts] Healer Episode 12 Review

Episode 12 was a revelation.

Kim Moon Shik met Chae Young Shin for the first time after a long time. His smiles were deceptive. I want to have some more reservations about him and what he might have done in the past past the story told that when he lost her as a child, when she wandered off to nowhere outside his car, he only looked for her for a very short time and stood still. That was a calculating move for him, letting her disappearance be a reason to let go of her. Of course, there is still parts of the past that is hidden to us, if she was found later or how she became traumatized as a child and the time she wandered on the streets looking battered and scarred.

I think Young Shin's memory has shut down to protect herself from the pains. I wonder how would she react if she found out that this smiling ahjussi who was standing in front of her was the man who was responsible for her disappearance and separation from her real mother?

The scene where Moon Shik was trying to guess her height was the scene that Moon Ho saw as he strode forward and brushed off his brother's hands off Young Shin. A powerful brush off that sent a chilling message not to touch her or mess with her anymore. A gesture that surprises Young Shin but left Moon Shik chuckling and never even looked fazed. He told Young Shin to step out of the office and even shut down all the window screens,.

It was not a threat or a warning to Moon Shik. Moon Ho will really protect Young Shin against his brother and the unknown elders. Or he would tell Myung Hee. Moon Shik told him she is in danger by exposing her to the public and the only thing that can protect her is to let her stay beside him. I wondered about Moon Ho's answers when he talked about making Young Shin lose the ability to walk or be caged if that happened. Was Myung Hee's disability Moon Shik's pathetic excuse to make her stay with him? Now that is so pitiful and beyond forgiveness even in the name of love.

Then this scene happened where Seo Jung Hoo was fetched at the detaining room to Moon Shik's house. Jung Hoo was so good playing at being the ignorant. But then, his disguise was not effective as far as Moon Shik thinks. The suspicions were already there, they only need a concrete evidence. 

I think what Jung Hoo's mother told to Myung Hee let the latter suspected her husband. Because when she met Jung Hoo up close and personal at the house, she concealed with effort her knowledge that this young man was a splitting image of his father, that Jung Hoo resembles his father. She innocently divert the attention by saying she did not see. Moon Shik knew her particularly when she is lying. And he wondered why was she doing that?

She even brushed off his hands twice on her when he tried to take her in his arms to help her stop her anxiety. It was brought about by  talking with Jung Hoo about his father and the friendship they have. She also told him that it is not true that his father killed her husband Kil Ahn and that he is being braved for wanting to discover the truth. All the while Jung Hoo was analyzing  this information in his head with confusion. He also see that this beautiful lady is suffering and was on the brink of another seizure attack but still hold on to his hands giving him reassurance. She told him about the photo by the side table where a girl was with her. She told him that he used to play with her. A memory flashed back on his head as Myung Hee uttered the girl's name. Ji Ahn, her daughter who died and was the same age as his. Confused with memories that recently  happened when Moon Ho called Young Shin Ji Ahn after she was rescued from the elevator.    

This was a sudden realization for Jung Hoo. He had put all the puzzles in their right places from getting DNA samples from Young Shin up to this moment and could only conclude that he was lied to by Moon Ho. Next scene showed how furious he was as he attacked Moon Ho and gave him a punch on the face. Well, he should have seen it coming when he lied to Healer/Jung Hoo. His explanations was not even heard by Jung Hoo who was so angry at how he handled things or how he kept his silence even when he knows how Myung Hee is suffering. He told Moon Ho that he should not mess up with him and Young Shin anymore. They have grown up okay and they could move forward without his help. As for his father's unfair accusation, he will uncover it on his own..

Young Shin and Bong Soo

Who did not feel this moment? I love the simple hugs he asked of her. A warm comfort only Young Shin could offer for him and his aching heart. After knowing parts of the truth, he immediately went to her. She might not yet realized that Healer and Bong Soo is one and the same man, but how she could not say no to this quirky/nerd guy that he let her believe is surely confusing to her and her senses. He tightly hugged her, and even if she tried to let him go after a while, he asked for another one which was so cute. Of course that earned him a kick! lol.

So I was waiting for another Secret Garden moves here but then she just wiped his lips with her thumb, still the sensation stayed, making him aware of what she did, while she was unconscious but then felt awkward right after. 

I know he grew up almost alone and no one cared because his mother has a new family but was he this ignorant of how things are done in the kitchen? Chincha! The way he peeled the onion was like peeling an apple. Funny how stupid he can be but adorable at the same time, uri Bong Soo! :))

Hmmm...I swear she had realized that the hand is the same, the feelings is the same, but due to unknown reasons she decided to play it cool and let his hand go. Guess she is not ready to accept that something is weird happening between her and her cute partner. Bong Soo asked to stay the night.

As the night deepens he stayed awake, talking to ahjumma via phone and admitting how he likes Young Shin to which the ahjumma replied back "Did you just realized?" Yup, she is one step ahead, always.

Healer continue to work at Someday. They were given an assignment by Moon Ho. Moon Ho decided to go after Moon Shik's candidacy for the coming mayoral election. The staff in the news company was surprised at how he strongly ordered them to look into Moon Shik's financial documents and the flow of the money. It could uncover a lot of things which could tarnish the reputation of the man.

Meanwhile, the detective tailing Healer was currently stationed outside Double SS headquarters. He followed the gang when they suddenly move in  motion as if there would be something big and interesting that would happen soon. He found himself at a parking space below a building while the gang waited for someone. The detective opened his laptop to start hacking, his instincts told him that it could well be about Healer. Just about the same time, the ahjumma received e-mails regarding Seo Jung Hoo.. A photo of his mother was attached. Clearly an intention to meet Healer and confirm that he is Jung Hoo.

On the way to their assignment, Healer received urgent messages from the ahjumma. He stepped on the accelerator and sped on the highway. Young Shin was startled at his sudden actions. Healer asked Young Shin to wait for him as he ran towards a building. His mother was already inside a cafe, waiting for him, just like the text message she received, unaware that it was a trap. The man who works for Moon Shik appeared before her and she was scared suddenly.

When Healer went to find his mother, she was not there anymore. Someone was taking pictures of him from outside which caught the attention of Young Shin. She decided to get out of the car and went inside the cafe. 

The ahjumma found the whereabouts of the tracker on Healer's mother was found inside the car of the man who works for Moon Shik. He knew then that it was an ambush. But there was no other choice for him. He had to rescue his mother. He moved forward as he fought a few gangster to the car but it was empty besides the man. 

The fight was a tough one for Healer. He almost made it to the staircase but due to the shot he got from the leader of the the gang on his thigh, he suddenly felt dizzy. he tried to focus and stay conscious. While fighting, he was wounded on his arm. Miraculously, he made it to the top on his way to the rooftop but before he did, a man suddenly snatched his coat and his cap, then kicking him outside and locking the door inside. He crawled his way to a secluded area, wanting to get away but he was losing a lot of blood.

I guess it was Healer's teacher who rescued him and pretended to be him to protect his identity. it would be interesting how moon Shik would react to this turn of events if he would see his old friend as Healer.

The ahjumma could not contact Healer. She saw through the computer how his vitals were rapidly being endangered. There was no other option but to call Young Shin for help. She asked to look for Bong Soo because he was in danger.

Will she finally realize it? Will her memory from the past comes back? Moon Ho said to Healer that he is only waiting for her to come to him of her own will. He won't force her to remember, She should find a way to remember.

The unveiling of the secrets are about time. It wold finally tell who can be trusted and who can not be.
