[mslee's thoughts] Sensory Couple Episode 3 Screen caps and GIF Review

Who is the real barcode serial killer?

Before I continue sharing highlights and short recap, I have this nagging feeling as I watch the episode that the real bar code killer could not be this doctor.

Chun Baek Gyeong

Maybe because it is becoming too obvious that the writer and the story want to point at him at every turn. His presence and his mysterious interest towards Cho Rim is really suspicious but how about Joo Ma Ri's boyfriend, the chef?

Kwon Jae Hee

It was revealed that no one knew he was the boyfriend. Why make it a secret? Besides, the built of this chef is more closer to the killer Eun Seol met at her parent's house that tragic day. I think Doctor Chun is taller compare to the real bar code killer.

Hmmmm....what's the relationship between Chef Kwon and Doctor Chun? Kwon Jae Hee introduced Joo Ma Ri to Doctor Chun. And even if detectives are suspicious of the doctor, Kwon Jae Hee is not even the least worried or suspicious about it.

Maybe they are in cahoots together? Now, I am getting ahead already. Maybe it's time to stop speculating and start to post what happened in this episode. I know I already said this, but still I will reiterate, I am liking the character Cho Rim as a carefree and cheerful young woman. Maybe after all the tough ordeal she went through, her mind blocked all the painful and scary memories that resulted to this happy personality. Now I wonder how will she deal with the truth the moment memories flood into this present day?

Highlights

Cho Rim saw the scent of Joo Ma Ri leading to the river.

She almost slipped at the cliff but Moo Gak's good reflex saved her from falling.

The stubborn detectives who refused to believe the theory of Moo Gak about Joo Ma Ri possibly in the waters,  went ahead and scattered towards the mountains to find the body. They were surprised to receive a call that the body was indeed found in the river.

There was a bar code on the the wrist. Yeom Mi, the woman who is leading the investigation was frustrated because they were not able to save the woman. But she was also taking interest at Moo Gak for finding the exact location of the body.

There is an interesting revelation in this episode. Yeom Mi knew the police detective who handled the case three years ago regarding Eun Seol's parent's death. Oh Jae Pyo is Cho Rim's father. Yeom Mi visited Jae Pyo in his working place as a security guard. He retired from being a police. She asked him about the case but he refused to share anymore because he is not a police anymore. She suspects him of hiding the real Eun Seol but Jae Pyo told her that Eun Seol died after being in a coma for a long time. She insisted she knew about programs such as witness protection program but he denied it.

Now, I think this is the piece of the puzzle missing. Eun Seol was pronounced dead by the government agency handling the case, maybe some higher ups that Jae Pyo talked with to protect Eun Seol. They agreed to change her name. Or was it a sole decision by Jae Pyo?

Moo Gak started investigating Doctor Chun and also met up with Chef Kwon. But Doctor Chun had a good alibi, being on a vacation before the kidnapping happened and after the body was found out. Suspicious but Moo Gak had no other evidence against Doctor Chun. Chef Kwon went to see Joo Ma ri's body. He teared up.

Cho Rim was waiting for Moo Gak outside the theater when Doctor Chun appeared and walked purposely towards her, getting something inside his breast pocket as he got nearer. But thankfully, Moo Gak arrived and called her name, causing Doctor Chun to continue walking pass Cho Rim. Moo Gak noticed him but he could not remember where he had seen him maybe because his back was towards him. Cho Rim saw scents coming from a hospital but Moo Gak did not made the connection. They proceeded to practice for their weird skit.

Moo Gak failed to show up on one of their rehearsal/audition in front of Cho Rim's boss. He got a call from Yeom Mi to go to Chef Kwon and find the missing diaries Joo Ma Ri kept. While doing autopsy, they found a key inside Joo Ma Ri and they confirmed that it was the key to lone of her box containing diaries. The last to visit the apartment was Chef Kwon. Moo Gak saw Kwon Jae Hee burning things of Joo Ma Ri  but Jae Hee denied having the diaries in his possession.

Because Moo Gak was not able to come, Cho Rim tried to perform the skit alone but the director of the troupe told her to stop. She put all her effort in serving her colleagues during the meal but she was told to go and not appear anymore. Moo Gak found her too drunk. He was so guilty he could not left her alone.

He gave her a piggy back while trying to find her home but he could not get the right location because she was too drunk. Suddenly a thought struck in his mind, he went to the office to see Yeom Mi. He told her that Doctor Chun could have gone to Jeju leaving temporarily Joo Ma Ri at some place then come back, killed her then went back again to Jeju. It was possible but they need a strong evidence to back up the claim.

Cho Rim appeared at the corner where he left her. Yeom Mi noticed Cho Rim and looked at the monitor where a photo of Eun Seol was posted.  Yeom Mi noticed the resemblance.

Will Cho Rim's secret be already confirmed and revealed as early as episode 4? How will Moo Gak deal with the reality that Cho Rim's real name is Eun Seol and was involved in the serial killings at the same time his own sister was killed?

It's too early to presume but I think I will stand by my theory that Chef Kwon is the real killer.
